The ratty Jag sold before I could make an offer. Instead I’m planning on putting a new exhaust on my LS400. 2.5 inch stainless X pipes from the cats back, along with with a less intrusive muffler or a butterfly valve to switch between a bit louder than stock and no muffler at all. Thoughts?

I will never VIP my car. I'm shooting for OEM+. I want to do a manual swap and add a turbo but that's years down the line.

Party pooper. Some v12s already have a crossover, changing it to a freer flowing x would definitely be a benefit. Better mufflers sound awesome on them. But anything under 3" would hurt, which is stock size I think.
